Joomla is like Bacon; you have to cook it just right.
If you have a Joomla site and you are not using the Admin Tools Pro component, you are doing it wrong. Admin Tools Pro is arguably one of the best firewalls out there for a Jooma site. Just like you can use bacon fat to cook other things, Admin Tools Pro also has other uses: It helps with making sure file permissions are set up correctly, it can clean out your temp directory, repair and optimize tables and purge sessions, all with the click of a button. Except for the firewall, all those things come with the core version. But there’s a big exception.
The Professional version of Admin Tools has my favorite feature, the .htaccess Configuration Maker. This feature adds an extra layer of security to your Joomla site by adding an username and password before you can attempt to login to the admin section of Joomla. The Core version of Admin Tools is like the meat off the bacon: its good, but that’s not why you eat it. The Pro version is like the fat off the bacon, because you could go without it, but man it’s so much better when you have it.
Spend your time worrying about bacon instead of Joomla!
Not only can you relate admin tools to bacon, you can also argue that it saves bacon. That one little extra login layer makes a world of difference, and I would bet my bacon on it. It really does lock the site down, along with other features in the Web Application Firewall, i.e. customized exceptions, IP Blacklisting and Disabling Editing of backend users' properties.
There are so many more features to the firewall and .htaccess Configuration Maker that I could go on and on about, just like I would if there was a pile a bacon in front of me. My point is, if you have a Joomla site, buy Admin Tools Pro. Download it, install it, configure it, and you will be happy about your bacon for a long time.
